NYCAA is committed to the health and safety of all participants. If, as a result of illness or injury, a student will need miss more than 2 consecutive classes, they can apply for medical leave. To apply, the student must email Student Services to inform NYCAA of the need to take leave. To return from medical leave, the student must file a Return from Medical Leave form signed by his or her medical provider. It is not necessary that the nature of the illness or injury be disclosed.
If a student will miss three or fewer classes in a single course as a result of medical leave, the classes may be taken when the student returns from leave If more than three classes in a single course will be missed due to medical leave, tuition credit equivalent to remaining classes will be issued. This tuition credit may be used towards registration for future terms at up to 50% of the cost of a single course.
Medical leave credit starts from the point at which a student contacts Student Services to notify NYCAA of the need to take leave, no retrocrediting for previously missed classes will be possible.
